Eligibility Criteria for Four-Wheelers on AFD CSD Portal

The AFD CSD portal provides subsidized four-wheelers to armed forces personnel, retired individuals, and their families. Below are the eligibility criteria for purchasing four-wheelers.

A. Armed Forces Personnel (Serving and Retired) & Widows (Pay Level 3 to 5)

  • Cost Limit: ₹8 Lakhs (Excluding Taxes)
    (Electric Vehicles: ₹13 Lakhs Excluding Taxes)
  • Periodicity:
    • Four cars in a lifetime.
    • The first car can be purchased after five years of service.
    • A gap of eight years between the purchase of two cars.
  • Special Notes:
    • Pensioner widows/NoKs can purchase cars against unused quotas of the deceased individual.

B. Armed Forces Personnel (Pay Level 6 to 9)

  • Cost Limit: ₹10 Lakhs (Excluding Taxes)
    (Electric Vehicles: ₹15 Lakhs Excluding Taxes)
  • Periodicity:
    • Five cars in a lifetime.
    • First car after five years of service.
    • A gap of eight years between two purchases.

C. Armed Forces Personnel (Pay Level 10 to 18) & Widows

  • Cost Limit: ₹20 Lakhs (Excluding Taxes)
    (Electric Vehicles: ₹25 Lakhs Excluding Taxes)
  • Periodicity:
    • Once every eight years.

D. Civilian Officers (Pay Level 10 to 18)

  • Cost Limit: ₹20 Lakhs (Excluding Taxes)
    (Electric Vehicles: ₹25 Lakhs Excluding Taxes)
  • Periodicity:
    • Once every eight years.

Eligibility Criteria for Other AFD-I Items

Items include two-wheelers, ACs, refrigerators, washing machines, laptops, etc.

  1. Two-Wheelers and Other AFD-I Items:
    • One item every four years from the date of the last purchase.
  2. Televisions:
    • Two TVs in a four-year block period.
  3. Air Conditioners:
    • Four ACs in a four-year block period.

Eligible Smartcard Holders

The following categories can purchase AFD-I items:

  • Armed Forces Personnel (Serving and Retired): Pay Level 1 to 18.
  • Civilian Defence Employees (Serving and Retired): Pay Level 1 to 18.
  • Defence Civilian Family Pensioners: Pay Level 1 to 18.

Key Notes

  • A minimum gap of four years is required between the purchase of the same AFD-I item or two-wheeler.
  • Only one type of AFD-I item can be purchased within the allowed time gap.
